Waterloo Regional Police now say an alleged abduction in Cambridge never took place. Police studied the video they obtained from a business in the area and determined that no abduction occurred.
On Monday night at approximately 8pm, Police received a report of an incident in the area of Christopher Drive and Champlain Blvd. in Cambridge.
Witnesses had reported at the time that a vehicle driven by a white male stopped in the middle of the street. A white male passenger got out of the car and ran to a white female walking on the sidewalk. Witnesses then reported that the female had a blanket put over her head and she was placed in the trunk.
However, Police do not believe the witnesses were lying – but that they may have misinterpreted what they saw.
