Vehicle rolls over multiple times in multi-car Cambridge crash

Waterloo regional police have reopened the roads in the Hespeler area of Cambridge near the scene of a major crash that occurred Monday morning.

Police say around 3:15 a.m. early Monday morning, emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle crash between a Toyota van and a Volkswagen SUV. The collision occurred near the intersection of Maple Grove and Beaverdale Road.

The 29-year-old Cambridge man driving the Toyota was taken a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The two youths who had been inside the Volkswagen SUV were also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One of the youth was taken to local hospital, while the other was taken out of region.

A resident on Beaverdale Road tells CityNews Kitchener that a crashed vehicle wrecked onto a front lawn along the roadway.

Roads in the area were closed since early on the morning of August 10 to accommodate the WRPS Traffic Services Unit’s investigation. All roads have since reopened.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Police say anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash camera footage is encouraged to contact the Traffic Services Unit at 519-570-9777, extension 8856.
