Man charged after knife incident at Waterloo Park

A Cambridge man is facing weapons-related charges after police said a person was threatened with a knife at a Waterloo basketball court.

On the Saturday of the Victoria Day long weekend, police were called to Waterloo Park to reports of a man threatening to stab someone with a knife at a basketball court.

The man was arrested shortly after police arrived, around 7:45 p.m..

No one was hurt.

A 36-year-old man from Cambridge has since been charged with numerous offences including assault with a weapon.

Anyone who has video footage of the interaction is asked to contact police, as the investigation is ongoing.
