Charges expected to be laid in motorcycle collision in Waterloo

Police expect to lay charges for a Wednesday afternoon motorcycle crash in Waterloo put the driver of the bike in hospital.

Waterloo regional police said it happened just before 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Westmount Road North and Longfellow Drive, just west of University Avenue.

They said a motorcycle and a vehicle, decribed only as a Honda, collided.

The 37-year-old man from Waterloo driving the bike was taken to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.

The 42-year-old woman, also from Waterloo, driving the Honda was not hurt.

Police had the intersection closed for several hours for their investigation.

They said charges are anticipated, but have not specified against which driver, or what those charges might be.
