There’s another round of overnight ramp and lane closures on Highway 85 in Kitchener this week to support ongoing Frederick Street bridge work.
That’s according to the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) after similar closures a couple weeks ago.
The MTO says the southbound off-ramp and on-ramp at Edna St./Victoria St./Frederick St. will be fully closed both July 29 and July 30.
The southbound on-ramp from Wellington St. will also be impacted, as well as the southbound collector lanes between Lancaster St. and Krug St.
The closures will take place nightly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The southbound express lanes on the highway will remain open during these closures.
That’s not all, as a separate full closure of the southbound express lanes on Highway 85 in that stretch will take place July 28 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Northbound express lanes will also be fully closed July 29 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., but northbound collector lanes and northbound ramps will stay open.
The MTO says drivers should expect intermittent closures of express lanes, collector lanes, and ramps in both directions throughout the Frederick Street bridge reconstruction project.
However, no overnight closures will take place Friday, July 31 or Monday, Aug. 3 due to the Civic holiday weekend.
The MTO noted all planned closures are weather dependent and will be rescheduled if necessary.
