Homeowner alerts police about break and enter in-progress

An arrest has been made after a botched overnight break and enter in Kitchener.
A homeowner in the South Creek Drive and Robert Ferrie Drive area alerted police around 12:10 a.m. on Tuesday about a ‘B and E’ in-progress at their residence.
Officers arrived to the scene and reportedly found a male suspect in the backyard.
According to Waterloo Regional Police, there was a brief struggle before the man was put in handcuffs. No injuries were reported by police.
A 42-year-old Cambridge man has been charged with various offences including assaulting a peace officer, break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, and trespassing/prowling near a dwelling.
Police have laid charges after responding to an in-progress break-in at a Kitchener home.
