Update:
The freezing rain warning was lifted around 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Original story:
Freezing rain could lead to a messy, morning commute on Tuesday.
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for much of southern Ontario, including Waterloo Region and surrounding areas.
The national weather agency predicts there's the potential for a period of freezing rain early Tuesday, with a few millimetres of ice accretion possible.
We'll get some relief once it switches over to regular rain, sometime in the late morning or early afternoon.
In the meantime, the conditions could have a significant impact on traffic and make roadways, walkways, and parking lots icy and slippery.
Residents are advised to use caution and motorists should allow for extra travel time.
