Kitchener man charged with attempted murder following stabbing

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) has charged a Kitchener man with attempted murder after a stabbing that occurred late Wednesday.

Police stated in a release that on the evening of July 29 around 8:15 p.m., WRPS responded to reports of a stabbing. The incident took place at a residence at Mill St and Ottawa St S.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to an out-of-region hospital.

As a result of the WRPS’ investigation, a 28-year-old man from Kitchener was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Police say the victim and accused are known to one another, and that there is no ongoing concern for public safety going forward.
