What started as one break-and-enter investigation is now three, with police saying the same suspects broke into multiple homes on the same day in Kitchener and Waterloo.
The first was in the early afternoon last Friday in Kitchener, around Victoria and Stoke near Fischer-Hallman.
Investigators have now linked that break-in to two others from that same day in Waterloo, around Fischer-Hallman and Erb.
Those locations are:
- Stoke Drive and Victoria Street South, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
- Sandford Fleming Drive and McCrae Place, between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m.
- Branstone Drive and Amberwood Drive, between 10:30 p.m. and midnight on May 30, 2026
Police say the thieves got inside each home through a back door, and stole jewellery and other property.
Anyone who knows anything about what happened, or has security camera video to share, is asked to call police at 519-570-9777, or reach out anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or by clicking here.
To prevent break-ins, police remind all homeowners to:
- Keep doors and windows locked, even when home
- Keep valuables out of common areas and out of plain sight
- Install audible noise alarm systems
- Secure residences with home video surveillance cameras in the front and back of the residence
- Notify neighbours when away for an extended period and arrange to have someone check on your residence
- Report any suspicious persons or vehicles to police
