Teen arrested for bringing pellet gun to Cambridge high school

By Erin Anderson

A weapons call at a Cambridge high school has led to charges for a teenager.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) responded to a secondary school in the Myers Rd. and Christopher Dr. area on Friday morning due to reports a youth was in possession of a firearm.

Officers attended the high school and arrested a 16-year-old male from Cambridge.

Police say they seized a weapon, which turned out to be a pellet gun.

No one was hurt and the teenager has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

While WRPS did not identify the high school, the provided intersection is where Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School is located. A request for comment was sent to the Waterloo Catholic District School Board.
