OPP spot small child standing in moving vehicle, Guelph driver charged

A driver from Guelph has been charged with multiple offences after the OPP spotted a small child standing inside a moving vehicle.

Officers from the Wellington OPP detachment were out on patrol late Tuesday afternoon when they saw a child standing in a back seat and leaning out a window on the driver’s side.

They pulled the vehicle over on to Wellington Street West in Guelph.

Police said the 39-year-old driver was charged not only for the unsecured child, but also for driving a vehicle without a valid permit, and not having an insurance card.

The OPP remind everyone that whenever people spot a worrisome situation involving another driver, it’s OK to call 911.
