Shots fired at Kitchener home, investigation underway

Waterloo regional police are now in the midst of a shooting investigation, after early gunshots were reported in the City of Kitchener.

It was on Monday around 2:50 a.m. when police responded to that call in the area of Sims Estate Drive and Fairway Road North.

The investigation is still in its early stages, though police confirm that officers did locate “several bullet holes” in the front exterior of a home in that area.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the shooting.

Police note that a dark SUV was spotted leaving the area of the shooting at a high rate of speed.

The shooting itself is believed to be a targeted incident.

People can expect an increased police presence in the Sims Estate Drive and Fairway Road North area of Kitchener as the investigation into the shooting continues.
