Waterloo regional police recover loaded firearm, arrest Hamilton man

Waterloo regional police have arrested a 30-year-old Hamilton man after a weapons incident in Kitchener.

Around 12:20 a.m. on Sunday, police received reports of a man brandishing a handgun inside an establishment at King Street East and Cedar Street South.

Officers arrived and arrested the man, also seizing a loaded handgun and a pellet gun. No injuries were reported as a result of the arrest.

A subsequent investigation resulted in the man being charged with eight crimes. The charges include unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
