Woman charged following Cambridge house fire

One woman is facing arson charges following a house fire in Cambridge Saturday morning.

A fire in the area of Adam Street and Queen Street was reported around 2 a.m. Emergency services responded and the Cambridge Fire Department got the blaze under control.

Regional police say the building sustained “significant damage” and that one occupant was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Following an investigation, police arrested and charged a 38-year-old Cambridge woman with arson with a disregard for human life.

The investigation is ongoing.
