Police search for suspect in hit-and-run collision, assault

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a hit-and-run collision that resulted in a physical altercation.
Police were called to the scene at University Avenue East and Bridge Street West around 11:10 a.m. on Feb. 26.
Through the investigation, investigators concluded the drivers of two vehicles were involved in a minor collision, which led to a physical altercation.
Police allege one of the drivers directed racial slurs toward the other while physically assaulting him. The suspect allegedly caused additional damage to the victim’s vehicle before fleeing the scene of the collision.
The victim, a 65-year-old Waterloo male reported no physical injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and police say charges are anticipated.
