Kitchener Rangers get shutout win over Windsor Spitfires

The Kitchener Rangers showed why they are the top team in the Western Conference, blanking the Windsor Spitfires 3-0 on Friday night.

Both teams remained off the board for the first period before Weston Cameron got one for the Rangers just over two minutes into the second. Dylan Edwards added another goal before the end of the period for his 31st of the season.

Christian Humphreys put the game away with an empty netter near the end of the third period. Christian Kirsch recorded his second shutout in three games in Friday’s victory, earning him first star honours.

Kitchener sits atop the Western Conference with a record of 38-12-4-2 and 82 points with 12 games to go left in the regular season. Windsor and Flint are not far behind, with 79 points each.

Up next for the Rangers is a trip down to Erie on Saturday to take on the Otters.
