Thousands of child abuse images found, man arrested

Police in Guelph arrested a man after investigators said thousands of child sexual abuse images and videos were discovered on a laptop and phone.

At the end of November, the Guelph Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit was tipped off by the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.

On Nov. 26, the devices in question were seized.

This past Wednesday, Jan. 7, a 69-year-old man from Guelph was arrested and charged with possessing, accessing, and making available child sexual abuse and exploitation material.

He has a court appearance scheduled for February 17.
