Missing Waterloo child found after search in frigid morning temperatures

Waterloo regional police said a missing 11-year-old has been found.

Around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, police posted on social media that the youth was reported missing.

Shortly after 6 a.m., police confirmed in an email to 570 NewsRadio that the child was found and is safe back home.

The search came as a deep cold took over Waterloo Region.

Tuesday morning temperatures dropped to -18 C, feeling like -22 when factoring in the wind chill.
