Cyclist killed in collision north of Guelph

A cyclist in Guelph-Eramosa Township was killed after colliding with a vehicle on Sunday evening.

According to Wellington County OPP, the incident took place on Wellington Road 86 at around 6:15 p.m.

The cyclist, a 49-year-old man from Ariss, collided with a vehicle on the township road and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The occupants of the vehicle were not injured in the incident.

Wellington Road 86 was closed for several hours after the incident but has since reopened.

In August, a cyclist was killed on Elmira Road, which is located south along Wellington Road 86 as you enter Guelph from the township, after being struck by a garbage truck at the Massey Road intersection.
