Rangers Kirsch records first shutout with 3-0 win over Sudbury Wolves

Christian Kirsch leads the way for the Kitchener Rangers, recording his first career OHL shutout during Friday’s 3-0 victory over the Sudbury Wolves.
Tanner Lam got the scoring going at 15:05 in the first period with his sixth goal on the season. Captain Cameron Reid extended his point streak to seven games with an assist on the play.
Jack Labrash channeled his inner Toronto Blue Jay as he batted in his second goal of the year during the second period to make it 2-0 .

Jack Pridham added one more with 10 seconds remaining in the third period on an empty net to seal the win for the Rangers.
Kitchener currently stands atop the Midwest Division with 22 points and a 10-3-2-0 record.
Kirsch stopped 19/19 shots, earning him first star honours on the evening.
After the game, Rangers head coach Jussi Ahokas said Kirsch has been “getting better and better” as the year goes on.
“He looks really confident right now in the net and made a couple of really key saves,” he said. “You need a really good goaltender to win hockey games and that is what he is giving us right now.”
Kitchener will finish off its back-to-back weekend with a trip to Brampton on Saturday afternoon to take on the Steelheads.
