The Kitchener Rangers closed out a three-in-three with a hard-fought 3-1 win over the North Bay Battalion on Sunday and sit atop the Midwest Division for the first time this season.
Blueshirts forward Luca Romano netted a pair of goals, and Rangers Captain Cameron Reid found the back of the net for the first time this season, extending his point streak to six games.
The Rangers finished off the weekend with five of a possible six points, improving their record to 9-3-2-0 and leapfrogging the Owen Sound Attack, who were beaten by the Flint Firebirds on Sunday.
The Rangers take a much-deserved break before returning to The Aud for a game against the Sudbury Wolves on Friday.
