Overtime winner seals bounce back win for Kitchener Rangers over London

The Kitchener Rangers earned a hard-fought win against their fiercest rivals, the London Knights, on Sunday afternoon in thrilling fashion.

First ever OHL goals from Kaden Schneider and Weston Cameron kept the Rangers level with the Knights through 60 minutes of action, but it was an overtime winner from defender Jakub Chromiak that sealed the victory for the Blueshirts, 3-2 the final.

“When you’re doing the right things, you get sometimes lucky, and you get into a good spot,” said Chromiak about his overtime winner after the game. “It feels amazing, especially against a team like this.”

Kitchener Rangers Head Coach Jussi Ahokas on Sunday’s performance:

Sunday’s win over the Knights was the first time the Blueshirts took down their biggest rivals since February, and a big bounce back after being taken down by the team from London 6-1 on Friday.

Next up for the Kitchener Rangers is a visit from the Flint Firebirds on Friday. The Blueshirts will look for revenge at home after a crushing 3-0 defeat to Flint at Dort Financial Center a few weeks ago.

Hear all the action all season long on 570 NewsRadio with Mike Farwell and Josh Piercey. Friday’s pre-game show begins at 6:30 p.m.
