Lanes reopened after early morning collision on 401 EB through Morriston

Lanes have reopened after an early morning two-vehicle collision on the eastbound 401 heading through Morriston.

Those lane closures began at around 8:00 a.m. at the Highway 6 North off-ramp, with drivers being detoured onto the regional highway, then brought back on at Highway 6 South.

It caused extensive delays heading out from Cambridge throughout the Saturday morning drive.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said that emergency services attended the scene to tend to the damage caused by the collision that sent two to hospital with minor injuries.

The MTO stated that lanes were reopened at approximately 9:40 a.m.

No details have been revealed as to any charges associated with the incident.
