One injured, two arrested after Kitchener shooting

One person was injured and two men have been arrested following a shooting in Kitchener.

The shooting incident was reported to Waterloo Regional Police around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the Victoria Street North and Forfar Avenue area.

Officers with the service responded to the scene and found one wounded victim, with injuries described as being non-life-threatening.

Police also spotted two men fleeing the area as they arrived – and managed to arrest them, with one found to be in possession of a loaded handgun.

Those two suspects have since been identified as a 25-year-old Kitchener man, and a 27-year-old Kitchener man.

Both suspects have since been charged with assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and several firearms offences.

Police believe the shooting was a targeted incident.
