Owner attacked with weapon in Cambridge home invasion

Waterloo regional police are searching for two suspects after what investigators are calling a targeted home invasion in the Preston area of Cambridge.
Around 11 p.m. on Monday when police were called to a home in the Duke Street and Church Street North area, just off King Street East.
The initial call was for an assault with a weapon, which transitioned into a home invasion robbery investigation.
Officers said two masked males went into the home, attacked the homeowner with a weapon and then drove away.
The victim was sent to hosptial with a head injury.
Police do not specify which weapon was used, and have not yet released any details about the suspects.
