Driver charged after road safety incident in Cambridge

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges after a road safety incident in Cambridge.

It was around 2:25 p.m. Monday, April 27, when a witness spotted a black, 2014 Ford F-150 pickup truck, dragging a large piece of concrete with a tow strap.

The truck was travelling southbound on Lisbon Pines Drive when the concrete slab detached, causing a vehicle behind it to take evasive action.

The witness told police the trailing vehicle nearly struck the object.

Police were looking to identify and speak with the driver of the truck and the driver of following vehicle.

In mid-May, police confirmed that a 48-year-old Kitchener man was charged with dangerous operation, careless driving, and insecure load.
