WRPS investigates sexual assault in Waterloo Park

Waterloo regional police are investigating a sexual assault that took place in Waterloo.

On July 4, police responded to a report of a sexual assault that allegedly took place on July 1 in the area of Waterloo Park.

Police say that at approximately 10:30 p.m., a female was walking on a trail when she was approached by an unknown male. The male sexually assaulted the woman and proceeded on the southwest side of the park towards Seagram Drive, the press release reads.

Police say the victim did not receive any physical injuries.

An investigation is ongoing by the Special Victims Unit.

Police are searching for a suspect described as a brown male, approximately 5’5″, and seen wearing a red shirt.
