Rangers look to pull off reverse sweep again, London up 3-0 in playoff series

The Kitchener Rangers are back in the same place they were with the Windsor Spitfires in the second round of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) playoffs.

A 3-2 London Knights win Monday puts the Knights up 3-0 in the Western Conference Final.

Paul Fixter, 570 NewsRadio Colour Commentator, says although it was the best game yet in this series for the Blueshirts, they were just not able to find the back of the net.

“A snowy goal line, or a post away from getting this game tied, Jack Pridham had a great opportunity; beats Elliott (London Goaltender), and the puck just doesn’t cross the line, those are all the little breaks that hopefully the hockey gods are looking down upon us on Game 4, and give us a little break in that regard.”

Looking to once again pull off the reverse sweep to stay alive in this playoff run, Fixter says there is one player who fans will be looking to.

On Monday night, London had 37 shots on goal. The Knights have yet to lose in this playoff run, sweeping both Owen Sound and Erie.

Last year, London eliminated the Kitchener Rangers in the second round, with a 4-0 win.

Game 4 gets underway Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. Broadcast time on 570 NewsRadio is 6:30 p.m.

If needed, Game 5 would take the team back to London on Friday night.
