Drug charges laid following dispute in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police have laid several drug charges after responding to a dispute in Cambridge early Sunday morning.

At approximately 5:15 a.m., police responded to reports of a dispute in the area of Lena Crescent and Conestoga Boulevard.

Officers were able to locate one of the individuals involved in the dispute. They found the man in a vehicle and say he was in possession of suspected cannabis and psilocybin.

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Cambridge male was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of over 30g of dried cannabis in a public place;
  • Possession of Schedule II – Other Drugs; and
  • Have care and control of vehicle with cannabis readily available.

The accused was also issued a 30-day driver’s license suspension for operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration in the warning range.
