The Kitchener Rangers saw their win streak come to an end, losing to the Saginaw Spirit by a score of 5-4.
It was a rough start to the game with the Rangers falling behind by three goals before Christian Humphreys got the Blue Shirts their first on the board.
The second period was a stronger showing for the team with three goals uncontested by Andrew Vermeulen, Trent Swick, and Cameron Reid for the Rangers to take a 4-3 lead.
But it wasn’t meant to be as two more goals by Saginaw would seal the deal, with not even a late power play and pulled goalie enough for the Rangers to pull ahead.
This marks the last game against the Spirit, ending with a 2-1-1-0 record for the Rangers.
Christian Humphreys and Trent Swick did extend their point streak to three games each with their goals, and an assist from Jack Pridham extends his point streak to six games.
The Rangers take on the Knights next in London on Tuesday Feb. 5. Puck drop is at 6:30 p.m.
