Second arrest made after guns stolen from a vehicle in Cambridge

A Cambridge man has been arrested and charged for allegedly stealing guns from a vehicle – and now police say a second arrest has been made.

Waterloo Regional Police say it began Sunday, with several firearms stolen from a vehicle around Main St. and Concession St. in Cambridge.

A suspect was found and arrested on Monday in Cambridge’s West Galt neighbourhood.

The 36-year-old was charged with theft from motor vehicle, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Providing an update on Tuesday morning, police said a 31-year-old Cambridge man was also arrested on Monday. He now faces a list of charges including:

  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • Trafficking firearm
  • Trafficking ammunition
  • Possession of unauthorized firearm
  • Possession of unauthorized ammunition

Police say two search warrants were completed by their General Investigations Unit at two Cambridge homes, recovering the stolen firearms.
