Warmer temperatures are coming back to seasonal to Waterloo Region beginning next week.
Starting on Sunday, temperatures will drop to a high of minus four from the high of minus 10 on Saturday. CityNews Weather Specialist Denise Andreacchi said Monday will be the “turn-around day,” as temperatures rise to minus one.
“Winds are shifting to the south and we are going to warm up and let go of that really bitter wind chill,” said Andreacchi. “It’s not mild on Monday, but it’s certainly isn’t going to be as cold and blistery as it has been.”
Tuesday will bring the first above zero temperatures of the week, with a high of plus one. Environment Canada predicts the temperatures will improve even more, with a high of plus four on Wednesday and plus five on Thursday.
There is some expected high impact snow fall on Tuesday, between 10 to 15 centimeters, but Andreacchi notes the warm temperatures will not have it last long.
“Temperatures will be warm enough that the next time we see active weather, it will is likely to be in the form of some showers late next week,” said Andreacchi.
Earlier in the week, the region was under an extreme cold warning with temperatures falling as far as -30 on Wednesday.
