Bingemans partners with K1 Speed Canada to open new go-kart facility

The Cambridge Centre Mall will be the new home for a brand new go-kart facility.
In a partnership between Bingemans Hospitality and K1 Speed Canada, a new track will be built in the old cement ice pad inside Cambridge Centre Mall. The group had recently received approval from Cambridge Council for a rezoning permit allowing go-karts.
Mark Bingeman, the president of Bingemans, tells CityNews 570 they have been working with Morguard, the real estate company that owns the facility, for the last two years. He noted the layout of the facility makes it perfect for a race track and for spectators.
“Years ago, Bingemans had the go-karts outdoors for a number of years and was a fantastic attraction,” he said. “It’s great to get back to some of our roots and it’s great to be in partnership with K1 Canada.”
The ice rink was closed in March 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic. The new facility will feature special events, instructional classes and racing leagues with other tracks across North America.
K1 Speed Canada has two other facilities in Toronto and Mississauga.
Construction is immediate and is expected to be finished by late winter.
