Polka with your pet at first ever Dogtoberfest

By Erin Anderson

There’s less than a month to go until K-W Oktoberfest gets underway and this year, there’s some ‘barking’ Bavarian fun in store.

For the first time in the festival’s 55-year history, there will be a special free event catered to canines.

It’s being called Dogtoberfest and it’s set to take over Carl Zehr Square for one weekend in October.

Dogs and their owners will be able to take part in trick training advice, pack walks, ‘Sniffscape’ courses, contests, and more.

Dogtoberfest is happening Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Oct. 8 from 10 a.m to 6 p.m.

It’s being presented by Nutram Pet Products, in partnership with Dog Friendly K-W and supported by Global Pet Foods.

K-W Oktoberfest runs from Sept. 22 to Oct. 14.
