Pink Shirt Day being marked across region

It is Pink Shirt Day.
This year's campaign is focused on diversity and having greater acceptance, respect and inclusion for everyone.
Pink Shirt Day originated in 2007 after two Nova Scotia teenagers encouraged their fellow students to wear pink T-shirts in support of a pupil who was being bullied.
The movement has raised more than $2.6-million for youth and anti-bullying programs.
To mark the day, the Cambridge sign in front of city hall will be lit pink.
Regional police are also encouraging positivity, promoting the theme of “lift each other up.”
The Waterloo Region District School Board is encouraging everyone to “be a buddy, not a bully.”
