NBL Canada cancels season, playoffs amid pandemic

The season is officially over for the KW Titans.

The National Basketball League of Canada says their board of governors have unanimously voted to cancel the rest of the 2019-2020 regular season and playoffs because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“NBL Canada's decision to cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 season as well as the playoffs was truly a difficult one to make,” deputy commissioner Audley Stephenson says in a release.

“Our owners, management, support staff, players and coaching staff invested countless hours in preparation for the season and its incredibly sad that we were unable to complete the year the way we would have liked to.”

The season was put on hold back on March 12.

The KW Titans finished the season at 9-16, last in the Central Division but riding a two-game winning streak.
