The flu has arrived in Waterloo Region

It’s officially flu season!

The first case of locally acquired influenza has popped up in our Region.

Region of Waterloo Public Health says due to the early arrival of the flu, the flu shot will be offered to high risk individuals at local doctor’s offices and long term care and retirement homes.

Vaccination for the general population will begin in mid-October.

Flu symptoms include fever, chills, cough, sore throat, fatigue, and muscle or joint aches and can last up to five days, seven days in young children.
