Crews kept busy with Tuesday morning fire in Kitchener

The Kitchener Fire Department is investigating an early morning blaze on Lancaster Street East, in the area of Weber and Cedar.

It broke out just before one o’clock at the former Three Point Variety store.

The Fire Department tells 570 News both the store and apartments above were empty and no one was hurt.

The cause remains under investigation, but does not appear to be suspicious.

It started in a storage area outside the building and caused some damage to an overhang as well as smoke damage inside.
