Pedestrian killed after crash with ION, no charges laid

At around 11:20 p.m., on Aug. 29, the Waterloo Region Police Service received reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a light rail train.

When emergency services arrived at the incident around the Dutton Drive area in Waterloo, officials say they located an adult female involved in the collision.

After locating the woman, police attempted life-saving measures. Though, police say the woman was later pronounced dead on the scene.

No charges have been laid after an investigation from the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s General Investigations Unit.
