Premier speaking at Waterloo Innovation Summit

A few high profile speakers are addressing those gathered at the Waterloo Innovation Summit.

Premier Kathleen Wynne was first up.

The provincial leader emphasized the importance of the government in encouraging and fostering innovation, arguing against the notion that it’s best for the state to get out of the way of the private sector.

Wynne also touched on the continued promise of investing in infrastructure, including current environmental assessments of a potential high-speed rail service creating a Toronto-to-Windsor corridor.

The Premier called for boldness, noting that mistakes may be made along the way.

The summit will also hear from BlackBerry CEO John Chen.
