Backyard chicken owners, rejoice.
The Kitchener Post reports a city committee voted unanimously in favour of suspending active enforcement of the backyard chicken bylaw while staff reviews the policy.
The backyard ban made its council debut on Monday after a recommendation was put forward by the city’s director of bylaw enforcement.
As of last year, Guelph was one of only seven communities in the whole of Canada in which backyard chickens are legal.
