E. coli found in Lynden water source

Residents of Lynden are being told not to drink their water after E. coli was found in the water source.

The warning from the medical officer of health was issued Wednesday afternoon telling around 500 residents not to use the water for any reason except for flushing toilets.

Residents in the town near Brantford are being asked to go to the fire station to fill up containers of water for drinking, cooking, and other uses.

Officials say the drinking water advisory will remain in effect until two sets of samples come back negative for E. coli.
