REPORT: What Kitchener’s priorities should be

Compass Kitchener, a citizens committee, has released its annual report card.

It has offered up some recommendations on what the city’s future priorities should be. The Record
says Kitchener was graded in six areas, earning a ‘B’ for development and a low of ‘C-‘ in diversity.

Sarah Marsh of Compass Kitchener tells the paper  “the marks show that the city has room to improve,” but also says it has made some progress in some areas.

The committee praised the city’s work on downtown revitalization and intensification but said it must work to ensure there is enough decent, affordable housing in the core and reduce the number of vacant storefronts.

The full report card will be posted on the city’s website at kitchener.ca on Friday.
