OPP and MTO launch truck safety blitz

The OPP and Ministry of Transportation have teamed up again for Operation Corridor.

The 24 hour blitz to check commercial vehicles got underway at 6am today.

Provincial Police say they saw more than 84-hundred collisions involving large commercial vehicles last year, including 68 that resulted in fatalities.

Officers will be looking for things like speeding, following too closely, faulty equipment and drunk driving.
