Polls now open until 9pm

It’s election day across the province of Ontario.
Polls opened at 9am and will close at 9pm.

Starting at 9pm we’ll have extensive coverage of the 2014 Provincial Election races throughout Waterloo Region and surrounding areas.
Meantime, political observers say they fear another low turnout in today’s provincial election.
Turnout numbers have fallen steadily from 64 per cent in 1990 to a historic low of 48 per cent in 2011.
Elections Ontario estimates just under 567-thousand voters took advantage of advance polls — and that’s down from the nearly 604-thousand who voted early in 2011.
Over nine million people are eligible to cast ballots in 107 ridings across the province.
