Almost two months after the last Canadian soldiers who served in the military mission to Afghanistan returned home, Prime Minister Stephen Harper will host the country’s first National Day of Honour on Friday to recognize those who fought and to remember the fallen. Harper announced in March at a welcome ceremony for returning soldiers that Canada will hold commemorative ceremonies every May 9.
