Four confirmed dead after train derailment in NYC

At least four people are dead due to a train derailment, the New York City fire department has confirmed.

Officials said 67 people were injured. A WABC-TV reporter on the scene said firefighters have had to smash through windows to reach passengers of the train.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority police say the Metro-North train derailed near the Spuyten Duyvil station.

As with any developing story, there are some conflicting reports.

A woman at the scene said some of the trains are submerged in water. However, another eyewitness said none of the derailed train cars are in the water.
