Steve Jobs dead at 56

The world has lost a visionary tech leader.

Co-Founder of Apple, Steve Jobs has died at the age of 56.

Jobs presented the world with Apple’s iconic products, including the iPhone and iPad.

The company released a brief statement today saying, “Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.”

Jobs and his childhood friend Steve Wozniak co-founded Apple Computer in 1976. In 2004, he battled pancreatic cancer and had a liver transplant two years ago.

He stepped down as Apple’s chief executive in August.
