Searching for a cause

An Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office investigator says it’s too soon to say what caused an explosion at a Woodstock apartment building.

A news conference was held in the city this afternoon. Larry Cocco says there’s a lot of debris to remove and sift through before a cause can be determined.

The explosion and fire utterly destroyed a three-storey apartment building at 168 Victoria St. South in Woodstock on Sunday morning.

Woodstock police say two people remain unaccounted for.

Pam Seatle of CityNews.ca filed this report from the scene.

Seven people, including a firefighter, were injured but have since been released from hospital.

Heart-FM reporter Blair Wilson was on the scene of the fire.

He recorded this video.
