REPORT: Help delayed after blast

It appears security officers actually kept ambulances from entering a Mexican resort following a deadly explosion last November.
The blast which ripped through a lobby of the Grand Riviera Princess hotel in Playa del Carmen killed five Canadians and two Mexican workers. One of the Canadians killed was Guelph resident Elgin Barron, a 14 year employee with COM DEV.
C-B-C News reports eight emergency calls made after the blast reveal that hotel security barred ambulances and police from entering the complex.
It says ambulances finally made it past guards 21 minutes after the first call.
In an email to the C-B-C, hotel officials deny they barred ambulances from entry — they say it took the rescue crews 18 minutes to reach the facility.
